This will be the 243rd and 244th times that BC and B.U. face off. Boston U. hold a 120-106-16 advantage in the all-time series.
Break out your "Sucks to BU," "Where's Your Beanpot?" and "Safety School" chants if you are going to the game (and are not in Tampa).
Look who's No. 1. Gross. Sick. Your new #1 hockey team is Notre Dame, who beat and tied Western Michigan last weekend. Boston College follows at the No. 2 spot sweeping their Ivy League games, jumping up from #5. Title game rematch, anyone?

Because it's never too soon to start talking Hobey. Brock Bradford tops Inside College Hockey's Hobey Tracker list this week. Bradford already has tallied 13 goals, 9 assists, 3 game winning goals an a +4 +/-. Not a bad month's work. For his efforts, Bradford was also named Hockey East Player of the Month for November.
Even More Accolades. Freshman Barry Almeida was named Hockey East Rookie Of The Week for his game-winning goal in BC's 2-1 victory over Dartmouth.
Jimmy Hayes was named to the 2009 U.S. National Junior Team. Hayes and the US team will play at the 2009 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship in Ottawa from December 29-January 5. Looks like Hayes will only miss the two exhibition games at New Brunswick on January 2 and 3. A true freshman, Hayes is tied with Brian Gibbons for second on the team in goals scored this season, behind only Bradford.
Head Coach Jerry York was nominated for Sports Illustrated's Sportsman Of The Year this year by SI staff writer (and BC Guy) Kevin Armstrong. York didn't win (obviously), but a nice gesture. Here is Armstrong's article on York. This year's Sportsman of the Year was some guy named Michael Phelps.
