Notes
Maryland is our new #1 after surviving Carolina. No one should want to play the tortoises at home. Fear the turtle? Thankfully for Eagles fans, fans of ACC Coastal division teams, and Maryland's bowl opponent, their season-finale, the ACC Championship and the Bowl game won't be played in College Park.
BC takes the 2nd spot from Florida State, Miami moves up (for now) as they have now won five straight. Coastal eliminator Thursday night as Miami travels to Atlanta to take on the Yellow Jackets.
The rest ... meh.

ACC Roundtable
From Old Virginia is hosting this edition of the ACC Roundtable. We really don't have many feelings either way about the Virginia Cavaliers football team, other than if you take a cheap shot on Mathias Kiwanuka, you are no friend of ours. Putting those feelings aside, From Old Virginia is a primo sports blog on UVA sports. You should check it out. Onto the questions ...
1. Take a look into your team's past, as far back as you like. If you could pick one game and change its outcome, which would you choose and why?
The Miracle in Miami ... no, just kidding. If we had to change one BC game, it probably would have been last year's ACC Championship game. We were the better team and we let the Hokies off the hook in the second half. Not to mention we made a bad quarterback (Sean Glennon) look like Joe Montana.
Change the outcome of that game, BC wins their first ACC conference championship, goes to the Orange Bowl and beats Kansas (I'll take the matchup between Matt Ryan and the Jawhawk secondary. Merely conjecture, but I don't think Ryan throws 3 picks including a pick-six). BC wins the Orange Bowl and puts a temporary halt to the ACC's BCS bowl skid.
2. What non-ACC program most resembles yours?
I dunno. This year, it might be Louisiana State. Nasty defense, shaky offense, inexperienced quarterback. Don't put away teams when the game is all but handed to you (LSU: Alabama, BC: Georgia Tech, Clemson). We sorta look like LSU this year, less being one year removed from the National Championship and the obnoxious fan base. Historically, let's go with TCU. Perenially underrated, underappreciated, nasty run defense. Struggled through the late 1990s only to come on strong in the 2000s. Bounced around conferences of late, religiously affiliated school, the list goes on ...
3. Which do you prefer? The ACC of 2008: not too well respected around the nation, but a conference in which almost any team has a shot at the conference title? Or the ACC of 1998: getting plenty of respect from football pundits as a good conference, but dominated by one hegemonic superpower that we all hate?
We were in the Big East in 1998, were coming off a 4-7 season and two years removed from a gambling scandal. We'll take what's behind door #2 please (the 2008 season).
4. Hey, it's basketball season! What are your expectations for your team? What kind of season would make you happy?
NIT, baby! We have a young and talented team. Bubble team for the NCAA tournaments would be nice but isn't expected. Looking to improve on last year's 14-17 season.

Raj's Roundtable
1. I would change the Brian St. Pierre- Ed Reed Fiasco. Definitely the most heartbreaking loss i have ever attended at BC.
2nd would have been the syracuse loss at home where we gave away the big east.
(BIASED OVER LAST YEAR, because i was at BC when these both happened)

4. NCAA bubble team w/a win over Duke this year.
raj - while the loss to Miami was heartbreaking, if we knock off Miami, nothing really changes. Miami still wins the Big East, still goes to a BCS bowl, and BC might play in a slightly better bowl.
The Diam*** F**** game is definitely #2 on that list. We would have won the conference outright, giving the Big East the business on our way out. Ugh.
Decent questions for the roundtable.
1. Up for consideration, is the '93 WVU game the week after we beat #1 Notre Dame and were ranked Top 10. Such a choke job, a different outcome could have led to huge things since that team could beat anybody when clicking. It would have made a big difference in BC football the rest of the '90s.
Can't argue with ACCCG or SU games, though.
Also, it didn't mean anything, but that first bowl game of the streak, we got embarassed by Colorado. Wouldn't mind having not witnessed that.
2. Maybe Purdue? Not much hype ever, usually successful in both football & bball, put out a similar number of Pros.
3. I expect to be bubble, Sweet 16 would make me happy
