Recent History

Our last trip to Doak Campbell Stadium was a successful one for the Eagles. In 2006, the #22 ranked Eagles traveled to Tallahassee and jumped out to a 21-10 halftime lead behind a DeJuan Tribble pick-6 that capped a 21 point second quarter. BC would manage to hang on late, beating the Seminoles 24-19. Interesting note: since the Eagles joined the ACC, in the Boston College – Florida State series, the home team is 0-3. Good news for the Eagles. Hopefully this trend continues in 2008.

The all-time series is 4-2 in favor of the Seminoles. The Eagles are 1-2 against Florida State since joining the ACC, and 1-2 in out of conference games. The first ever meeting was in 1957.

Things to Do and See

Not to completely mail it in, but in my surfing of the web I stumbled upon this blog – Matt’s ACC Travel Guide. Matt visited the Florida State campus this year and weighs in on the best places to eat on and off campus, the best place to drink all night, and the athletic venues and other activities.

What else is going on this weekend?

Homecoming – looks like the Boston College – Florida State game is homecoming for the Seminoles …

DowntownGetDown – The United Way will host seven DowntownGetDowns at the Adam Street Commons this fall. The 6th GetDown will be held Friday, November 14 from 6 to 10pm.

Famous Tallahasseeans, BC Interruption version
  • Bobby Bowden – he’s been here a while! Sure, he has two National championships, but can he get it done in the ACC post expansion?
  • The real Orson Swindle, whose namesake is used as a pen name for the author of the college football blog Everyday Should be Saturday
  • Faheem Najm aka T-Pain – “Buy U a Drink”

Last up is our road date with Wake Forest in Winston-Salem. Will our last road game of the season have big implications for the Atlantic Division race?
