The 2004 squad was every bit as talented as the 2001 squad.

A horrible way to end the season. We ended up selling our tix to the championship game and hitting the North End pubs.

What little consolation that came from that game was that Maine lost the final, which continued the WCHA's dominance over HE in the championship game.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15511919115372205489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7012441349157663851.post-20398549826611578312008-02-21T14:59:00.000-05:002008-02-21T14:59:00.000-05:00I couldn't help but say something after your menti...I couldn't help but say something after your mention of that frozen four loss. I was also in attendance and it was probably the most perplexing and sad losses I have ever watch the hockey program take in my 8 years of following the team. From the dump and chase Maine style of offense to the stifling trap they played defensively, only to see our smaller forwards (Voce, B Eaves, Spina, Shannon) falling-down tired by the 10 minute mark of the 3rd period. The fluky goal off the faceoff by Maine, the typical Matti soft-ish kind of goals he let in that season. A 1-0 loss in Boston, with the refs letting Maine clutch and grab at the blue line, since it was the only way they could stop us. Just horrific memories, the perfect storm of a game that would allow Maine to win.S. Andonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06225189531860250269noreply@blogger.com
